About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator IBM Infosphere CDC to manage and support enterprise-grade data replication environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in IBM Infosphere Data Replication (CDC) along with strong Unix skills and hands-on experience in administering data replication and streaming ecosystems.

This role is crucial to ensuring data consistency, system availability, and seamless replication processes across diverse enterprise environments. You will work closely with DevOps, data engineering, and infrastructure teams to support ongoing replication needs, optimize CDC performance, and ensure compliance with audit and logging standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance :

- Install, configure, and maintain IBM Infosphere CDC (Change Data Capture) environments across distributed systems. (Mandatory Skill)

- Perform regular upgrades and apply patches to CDC software ensuring minimal downtime. (Mandatory Skill)

CDC Instance and Subscription Management :

- Create, manage, and optimize CDC instances and subscriptions. (Mandatory Skill)

- Monitor ongoing replication processes to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and performance.

Troubleshooting & Support :

- Investigate and resolve replication issues related to latency, connectivity, subscription failures, and throughput bottlenecks.

- Provide weekend support for implementing Change Requests (CRs) or critical updates as needed.

System Administration & Logging :

- Backup and restore CDC metadata and configurations.

- Implement appropriate logging and auditing mechanisms for compliance and traceability.

- Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls in CDC environments.

Environment Integration :

- Collaborate with Kafka and Nifi administrators to integrate CDC with real-time streaming pipelines. (Good to Have)

- Maintain CDC connectors with Kafka topics and data pipelines.

Platform & Tools Support :

- Administer CDC on Unix/Linux environments with strong command-line scripting and automation experience.

- Utilize ticketing tools like ServiceNow (SNOW) for issue tracking and lifecycle management.

- Exposure to DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Git for deployment automation is preferred.

Mandatory Skills :

- 35 years of hands-on experience with IBM Infosphere Data Replication (CDC) Installation, Configuration, Upgrades, Subscription Management

- Strong Unix/Linux administration background

- Expertise in monitoring and managing CDC replication processes

- CDC metadata handling backup, restore, troubleshooting

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills :

- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka, Apache Nifi, and their integration with CDC

- Certification in IBM CDC technologies

- Experience with DevOps pipelines Jenkins, Ansible

- Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) or other enterprise-grade ticketing systems

- Strong scripting skills in Shell / Bash / Python
