Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior SQL Developer with strong expertise in SQL development, data modeling, and performance optimization to build and maintain enterprise-grade trading risk and reporting platforms. The ideal candidate should have experience implementing complex risk calculations, designing scalable data layers, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver accurate and high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL-based data models, transformations, and reporting layers.

- Implement trading risk logic, including positions, exposures, pricing, P&L, and risk calculations.

- Develop and maintain scalable ETL/data ingestion pipelines to support enterprise reporting.

- Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance for large datasets.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Technical Leads, and Full Stack Developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting and analytics platforms.

- Review database architecture and recommend improvements for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks while managing technical debt.

- Support production releases, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

- Participate in code reviews and promote database development best practices.

Required Skills:

- 6-10 years of experience in SQL Development.

- Strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers, and query optimization.

- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and reporting data layers.

- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data ingestion pipelines.

- Experience working with trading, risk management, or financial reporting systems.

- Knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have:

- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.

- Exposure to .NET and React-based applications.

- Knowledge of financial markets, trading, risk management, or P&L reporting.

- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and CI/CD practices.

- Familiarity with messaging technologies and distributed data processing.
