Job Overview :

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION :

As a Microsoft SQL Server DBA, the potential candidate will be responsible for the technical analysis, design, installation, configuration, administration, security, maintenance, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery of Microsoft Windows application servers and Microsoft SQL database servers.

Responsible for Windows application servers, SQL Server Report Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services.

Key Responsibilities :

- 6 to 8 years Microsoft SQL Server administration experience covering versions from 2005 to 2022

- Provide thought leadership on database architectural design of existing and new systems, database administration, performance monitoring tuning, troubleshooting problems and expansion.

- Evaluate and implement products to enhance existing database solutions (reduce costs, improve efficiency, improve performance).

- Review, enhance and develop backup and recovery strategies depending on SLA requirements.

- Capacity planning and monitoring database growth.

- Design, maintain and ensure High Availability solutions including replication, clustering etc.

- Design, implement and document Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business servers.

- Perform capacity planning work on Production, Dev, QA, and DR environments.

- Research improvements to improve overall system performance.

- Communicate and coordinate with other IT teams to successfully resolve support and maintenance issues.

- Develop and enforce database standards and best practices including performance, security, monitoring policies and procedures.

- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other related tools.

- Knowledge of database security best practice.

- Strong proficiency in T-SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning.

JOB DESCRIPTION SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) :

- Extensive experience with PowerShell scripting for SQL Server administration and automation.

- Ability to work on cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work in high pressure situations.

Education :

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications is preferred.
