Senior Software Engineer OpenEdge / JavaScript

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in OpenEdge 12.2/12.8, Progress ABL (4GL), JavaScript, and PASOE. The role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting business-critical applications, web solutions, integrations, and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain applications using OpenEdge and JavaScript.

- Work on WebClient and browser-based applications.

- Develop integrations with external systems.

- Work with OpenEdge DB, Oracle, and SQL Server.

- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

- Participate in technical design, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

- Collaborate with QA and provide technical guidance to junior developers.

- Support deployments across hosted and on-premise environments.

Mandatory Skills:

- 3+ years of software development experience.

- Strong OpenEdge 12.2/12.8 and Progress ABL experience.

- Strong JavaScript development experience.

- PASOE experience Mandatory.

- Strong database knowledge: OpenEdge DB, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.

- Web application development and system integration experience.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

- Full SDLC experience.

Good to Have:

- ERP/business management software, bookkeeping or accounting systems, project management modules, cloud-hosted environments, and web server/deployment knowledge.

Soft Skills:

- Strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, mentoring ability, ownership, and willingness to learn.
