Roles & Responsibilities :

Java Software Engineer will join the Platform Consolidation team. This is a backend-oriented position with a focus in heads down development, modernization, and platform cloud migration. This role is a blend of net new development and digging into existing code bases and modernizing for cloud readiness.

To be qualified for this position :

- Demonstrated 6+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives

- Possesses a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

- Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks Java Java script Gradle SQL (Oracle & MySQL)

- Works with RESTful APIs and web services

- Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles

- Understands database design principles & query language

- Implements code-based unit tests

- Gathers technical requirements and Writes technical documentation

- Writes code to maintain large-scale complex systems

- Designs efficient and performant solutions using development best practices

- Mentors others on technology-related languages, concepts, practices, & tools

- Works effectively with other functional teams including Leadership, Product, Security, & Architecture

You will set yourself apart :

- AWS or other cloud experience

- Experience modernizing application architecture to microservices and cloud

- Java experience paired with .NET

- Knowledge of the healthcare industry or ANSI X12

You will be :

- Participating in daily stand ups

- Participating in weekly planning and refinement meetings

- Working in an agile scrum environment with 2-week sprints

- Working on net new development to prepare for cloud migration

- Working on modernizing existing code to prepare for cloud migration

- Working cross functionally with other groups in the organization

- Ensuring your code is efficient, optimized, and performant

- Performing unit testing and complex debugging to ensure quality

- Contribute and develop best practices for Engineering teams.
