We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us to improve the platform that supports one of the best experimentation tools in the world.

Education : B.Tech, B.E, MCA, BSC-IT - (No BCA, Bcom, BA)

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

- Lead the development and maintenance of backend APIs that powers various products

- Solve complex technical problems to improve our development process, increase our efficiency and unlock new business opportunities.

- Take initiative to improve existing solutions, challenge decisions, propose augmented alternatives and address technical debt.

- Lead the technical discussion around software architecture and guide the team to make decisions that are agile, incremental and beneficial for the long term

- Responsible to refactor and simplify code by introducing design patterns when necessary and guide more junior members of the team in this topic

- Coach, guide and improve the overall performance of more junior colleagues

The job requirements :

- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in software engineering development with extensive knowledge of at least one backend language like Perl, Java, NodeJS (JavaScript) or Python

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent

- Extensive knowledge and experience in domain based systems design including API design, management, documentation and governance

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and cooperate with people at all levels

- Experience with mentoring, coaching and training team members, formal and informal

- Experience driving successful technical, business and people related initiatives that improved productivity, performance and quality

- Demonstrable experience with MySQL or similar relational databases

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

- Experience working with teams located in different timezones is a plus

- Experience with statistics and A/B testing is a plus
