OVERVIEW :

The goal of the Development tools teams at Skillsoft is to enhance the developer experience such that they can be most efficient about building and delivering world class features. As a member of this team you get to build creative tools that will make deploying, managing and monitoring of hundreds of microservices easier, automated and reliable.

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS :

- Create software tools that enable our cloud data technologies to function autonomously

- Communicate effectively with both technical and non - technical individuals to help smooth the tight release deadlines.

- Work closely with developers and QA teams to design tools that interact with the various technologies used on the Skillsoft platform

- Hands - on development with Python, Node JS and GoLang scripting languages

- Help to automate the monitoring and troubleshooting both development and production cloud environments.

- Communicate the work done clearly and concisely; help developers and other teams understand the code developed with the goal of becoming self - sufficient.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer actively working on maintaining.

- Well versed in either Node.js, Python, Java or GoLang programming

- Familiar with atleast one of the following data technologies: Kafka, Cassandra, Elastic

- Experience with data - driven software and application troubleshooting using monitoring and collection tools such as New Relic, Splunk, ELK, kubectl, etc

- Experience getting the developer code from inception to production ready in collaboration with Agile development teams and infrastructure hosting teams.

- Strong understanding and experience with web SaaS architecture.

- Familiarity with Agile development tools like Git and JIRA.
