Senior Software Development Engineer - Test - Java/Selenium

We are looking for a Senior/Lead SDET who can drive automation strategy, architect frameworks, and elevate quality engineering across the organisation. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that shapes the quality roadmap for an AI-led healthcare platform.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following :

Technical Leadership and Framework Architecture :

- Design, architect, and evolve automation frameworks across backend, web, and distributed systems.

- Lead POCs for new tools, frameworks, and processes across Automation, API, Performance, and Quality Engineering.

- Drive standardization of automation patterns, coding best practices, and review mechanisms across squads.

- Build scalable, maintainable test suites tightly integrated with product architecture and CI/CD pipelines.

Quality Strategy and Execution :

- Own quality strategy for features, releases, and complete problem domains.

- Define comprehensive test plans : functional, integration, E2E, regression, API, performance, and reliability.

- Create and maintain KPI dashboards for performance and quality metrics.

- Ensure high-signal automation with optimal coverage, depth, and ROI.

Operational Excellence :

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automation frameworks.

- Ensure reliable execution in cloud environments (GCP/AWS).

- Lead incident analysis and improve system observability and debugging workflows.

- Influence engineering and product design via a strong quality lens.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with Product, Engineering, CQA, and AI/ML teams for predictable, bug-free releases.

- Translate complex products and AI behaviour into testable hypotheses and validation strategies.

- Communicate risks, trade-offs, and technical decisions clearly to engineers and leadership.

Leadership and Mentorship :

- Lead test engineering initiatives across multiple squads.

- Break down complex problems for junior engineers and guide them through execution.

- Mentor SDETs and developers on automation, testing philosophy, and design for testability.

- Drive technical reviews, internal knowledge sharing, and quality culture improvements.

- Optionally represent Arintra externally via talks, blogs, and community engagement.

Requirements :

- 9+ years total experience, with 7+ years in Automation (Backend + Web).

- Strong proficiency in Java and at least one additional programming language.

- Deep experience building test automation frameworks : Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Cucumber, Appium, or custom frameworks.

- Strong expertise in API testing (Postman, RestAssured, GraphQL, etc. ).

- Hands-on experience working with GCP or AWS in distributed systems.

- Strong experience with messaging queues : RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.

- Strong understanding of build tools : Maven, Gradle.

- Solid grounding in CS fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.

- Proven ability to drive automation architecture and own test strategy end-to-end.
