About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join the core engineering team and build scalable products and platforms for the consumer fintech space.

The role is suited for a strong individual contributor who can take ownership of features and services across the complete product lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable software applications and services.

- Own features and components across the complete software development lifecycle.

- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

- Develop high-quality, maintainable code using Java and Spring Boot.

- Apply strong object-oriented design principles and appropriate design patterns.

- Design and develop scalable APIs, services, and backend components.

- Work on system design and make appropriate architectural and technical trade-offs.

- Analyze and optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests and proactively identify potential defects.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.

- Monitor applications and services post-deployment to ensure reliability and performance.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

- Demonstrate strong ownership and proactively identify opportunities for product and engineering improvements.

- Contribute to building products and platforms in a fast-paced consumer technology environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 6 - 8 years of strong individual contributor experience in software engineering.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

- Experience designing and developing scalable backend applications, services, and APIs.

- Good understanding of system design and technical trade-offs.

- Experience with software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Experience writing unit and integration tests and participating in code reviews.

- Strong sense of ownership and ability to independently drive engineering deliverables.

- Experience working in internet, product, fintech, or high-scale technology environments is preferred.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
