Role : Sr. Software Developer (Java & AS400)

Role Overview :

As a Sr. Software Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable software solutions that drive critical business functions. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on coding in both modern Java ecosystems and established AS400 environments, bridging the gap between legacy systems and contemporary architectures.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality applications. This role directly impacts our users and customers by enhancing system performance, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the reliability of our core platforms, contributing significantly to our business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and architect high-performance, scalable software solutions leveraging Java and AS400 technologies to meet evolving business demands and strategic objectives.

- Lead the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to implementation, testing, and deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

- Collaborate effectively with product owners, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical designs and development plans.

- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the development team.

- Conduct thorough code reviews, identify areas for optimization, and implement robust testing strategies to ensure the reliability, security, and quality of delivered software.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across various environments, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize operational impact and ensure system stability.

Required Skillset :

- Deep expertise in Java development, including proficiency with frameworks such as Spring Boot, and a strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms.

- Proven proficiency in AS400 (iSeries/IBM i) environments, encompassing RPG, CL, DB2/400, and a solid grasp of its architecture, integration capabilities, and operational nuances.

- Ability to architect and implement complex, distributed systems, demonstrating strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a reputed institution.

- Demonstrated adaptability and self-motivation to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working effectively with distributed teams and managing multiple priorities.
