Role Overview :
As a Senior Software Architect, you will be part of the Architecture organization responsible for providing technical direction across domain PODs, SRE, Data, and Infrastructure teams.
You will play a key role in designing resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient systems using modern technologies such as .NET Core, Azure, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices, while influencing architectural decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Architecture Design & Strategy :
a. Define and document target architecture, blueprints, and design patterns for:
- .NET Core microservices
- React / React Native frontends
- Azure cloud infrastructure
b. Design high-availability and low-latency systems, including :
- API gateways
- Messaging systems
- Caching strategies
- Circuit breaker patterns
2. Observability & System Reliability :
a. Establish organization-wide standards for:
- Structured logging
- Distributed tracing
- Metrics, SLOs, and alerting
b. Ensure systems are highly observable, reliable, and performance-driven
3. Architecture Governance & Innovation :
a. Lead architecture reviews, threat modeling, and Proof of Concepts (POCs)
b. Evaluate technology choices and design trade-offs
c. Drive adoption of best practices across teams
4. Cloud & DevOps Enablement :
a. Define strategies for Kubernetes (AKS), including :
- Containerization and registry management
- Deployment strategies (GitOps, blue-green, canary)
b. Establish CI/CD pipeline architecture and infrastructure-as-code standards
c. Enable fast, secure, and reliable deployments
5. Data & Platform Architecture :
a. Guide data architecture decisions across :
- SQL Server
- Cosmos DB
- Databricks
- Data lakes
b. Support both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads
6. Security & Compliance :
Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to :
- Define secure architecture patterns
- Meet regulatory requirements
- Ensure audit-ready systems
7. Leadership & Mentorship
a. Mentor senior engineers, architects-in-training, and technical leads
b. Drive architectural maturity across teams and geographies
c. Influence engineering standards and best practices
Key Requirements :
Technical Expertise :
a. Strong experience in :
- .NET Core microservices architecture
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, CQRS
- Event-driven architecture patterns
b. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure, including :
- App Services, AKS (Kubernetes)
- Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management
- Cosmos DB, SQL Database
- Key Vault, Storage, Application Insights
Cloud & Kubernetes :
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS):
- Cluster design, networking, and security (RBAC, network policies)
- Resource management and autoscaling
- GitOps tools (FluxCD, ArgoCD)
DevOps & Deployment :
a. Strong understanding of :
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
- Containerization (Docker)
- Deployment strategies (blue-green, canary releases)
System Design & Reliability :
a. Experience building resilient systems using :
- Circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, fallbacks
- Chaos engineering practices
Observability & Monitoring :
a. Expertise in :
- Logging and tracing (Application Insights, OpenTelemetry)
- Metrics (Prometheus)
- Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Datadog)
Security & Data Architecture :
Knowledge of :
- API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)
- Secrets management and encryption
- OLTP vs OLAP systems, relational and NoSQL databases
- Eventual consistency patterns
Experience & Soft Skills :
- 10 - 14 years of experience in software engineering with strong architectural leadership
- Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems (preferably in fintech or trading domains)
- Strong communication skills to present complex architectural concepts to technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to influence decisions across teams and geographies
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and balancing trade-offs between performance, cost, and compliance
