Role Summary :
We are hiring for a leading Semiconductor Manufacturing company based in Bangalore for a 100% Individual Contributor (IC) role.
As a Senior Silicon Validation Engineer, you will architect and develop advanced validation solutions that push silicon hardware to its limits. This senior-level position requires deep expertise in low-level hardware fundamentals (bits, bytes, memory subsystems, and system internals) combined with strong high-performance software development capabilities.
You will design and execute sophisticated stress and performance scenarios to validate system robustness under extreme operational conditions. This role goes beyond traditional C++ and Python programming requiring advanced system-level thinking to create frameworks that maximize hardware utilization and uncover edge-case behaviors.
You will work closely with design, verification, architecture, and software teams to ensure comprehensive silicon and system-level validation coverage.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define, architect, and execute complex stress, reliability, and performance validation plans targeting silicon and full system integration.
- Develop high-performance validation tools and automation frameworks using C++, Python, and other relevant technologies.
- Analyze silicon architecture and system software stacks to identify bottlenecks and corner-case behaviors.
- Design stress scenarios that push hardware to its operational limits.
- Debug and root-cause issues at the hardwaresoftware boundary.
- Provide actionable insights to improve silicon robustness, stability, and performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, verification, architecture, and software teams to align validation strategies with product requirements.
- Drive improvements in system-level validation methodologies and best practices.
- Document validation strategies, test coverage, results, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
Required Qualifications :
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Real-Time (RT) and Embedded environments.
- Strong expertise in C++ for high-performance system-level programming.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and validation framework development.
- Deep understanding of SoC architecture, memory hierarchy, caches, interrupts, buses, and system integration.
- Proven experience debugging complex silicon and software interaction issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to isolate hardware-level failures.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation.
- Familiarity with performance profiling and system instrumentation tools.
- Strong understanding of Linux or RTOS internals.
- Exposure to high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, etc.
- Experience working in semiconductor product companies.
