Key responsibilities :
- Conduct workshops to gather requirements, perform fit-gap analysis, and define as-is/to-be warehouse processes, SOPs, and control points.
Configure SAP WM including (as applicable) :
- Warehouse structure setup : warehouse number, storage types/sections/bins, storage unit management (if used), and interim storage areas.
- Putaway and picking strategies : storage type search, stock removal rules, picking areas, picking strategies, and replenishment.
- Transfer requirements/orders : internal movements, bin-to-bin, posting change, and stock transfers.
- Goods receipt and goods issue processes integrated with IM/LE (as applicable), including staging and posting controls.
- Handling unit / label / packing-related processes where applicable (often coordinated with LE/HU functionality).
- Cycle counting / physical inventory processes for warehouse-managed storage locations.
- Wave/queue/monitoring practices and warehouse operational reporting (where applicable).
- Define and validate RF/barcode/scanner process requirements (if used), coordinate with mobility solutions, and support integration testing.
- Ensure robust integration with SAP MM (procurement/GR), SD (deliveries/outbound), IM (inventory postings), and PP (staging/production supply), and coordinate interface dependencies.
- Prepare functional specifications for developments (reports, enhancements, forms, interfaces), coordinate with technical teams, and validate delivered functionality.
- Own testing activities : unit testing, SIT, UAT support, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and closure; ensure traceability of requirements to test cases.
- Plan and execute cutover activities : master data readiness, open stock reconciliation, bin stock uploads (if required), operational readiness, and go-live checklists.
- Provide hypercare support and stabilize operations post go-live; drive continuous improvement and change requests/enhancements.
- Mentor junior consultants, enforce documentation standards, and contribute to delivery governance (estimation, planning, RAID management).
Required experience and qualifications :
- Minimum 23 end-to-end SAP WM implementations (blueprint through go-live and hypercare), ideally in complex warehouse environments.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations : inbound receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking/packing, staging, loading, and inventory control.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Skills and competencies :
- Deep SAP WM configuration expertise and the ability to design scalable, standard-driven warehouse processes.
- Strong integration understanding across WMMMSDIMPP and experience coordinating
cross-functional testing.
- Strong communication, workshop facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management
skills.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills, particularly for warehouse execution issues impacting throughput and inventory accuracy.
- Working knowledge/exposure (preferred) to LE-Shipping, HU processes, and migration path
considerations (e.g., WM vs EWM) depending on the program roadmap.
