About the role:

The Senior QA Engineer is an experienced individual contributor responsible for independently ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of the Firm's custom, enterprise-scale software solutions. This role partners closely with delivery teams to plan, execute, and evolve testing approaches across features and applications, with an increased emphasis on automation, risk assessment, and quality advocacy. The position represents a fully independent QA professional who exercises sound judgment, influences delivery outcomes, and supports the development of less experienced QA team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Team Contribution & Collaboration:

- Serve as an active and influential member of cross-functional delivery teams, participating in planning, refinement, standups, reviews, retrospectives, and release activities.

- Partner with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, and quality expectations.

- Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

2. Quality Assurance & Testing:

- Plan and execute end-to-end testing for assigned features, components, or applications.

- Design, maintain, and evolve manual and automated test cases and test suites aligned with delivery priorities.

- Independently execute and analyze automated test results, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.

- Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing to assess quality and risk.

- Identify, document, prioritize, and communicate defects and quality concerns using established defect-tracking tools.

- Contribute to test strategy discussions and provide recommendations to improve test coverage and efficiency.

3. Automation & Tooling:

- Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test suites using Firm-standard tools.

- Collaborate with other QA team members and Software Engineers to improve automation reliability and maintainability.

- Apply automation best practices and promote consistent testing approaches across delivery teams.

4. Mentorship & Continuous Improvement:

- Provide guidance and informal mentorship to team members.

- Share knowledge, testing techniques, and lessons learned with the broader QA community.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to QA practices, tools, and standards.

Requirements:

- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)

- Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps-aligned practices

- Test planning, execution, and defect management concepts

- Quality engineering principles and risk-based testing approaches

Bonus Skills:

- Ability to independently plan and execute testing activities across complex features or applications

- Ability to leverage automated testing tools such as Playwright, Rapise, Opkey, or similar frameworks

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- Ability to clearly document and communicate test results, defects, and quality risks

- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

- Ability to mentor and support the development of less experienced QA team members

- CTFL, CSQA, CSQE or similar certification or demonstrated ability to target testing through techniques such as boundary, equivalence, state transition

Required Skills:

- Excellent communication skills.

- Strong hands-on experience in both Manual Testing and Automation Testing.

- Mandatory expertise in Selenium and/or Playwright.

- Proven experience in team management and client stakeholder management.

- Solid hands-on experience in API testing.

- Working knowledge of Performance Testing is an added advantage
