Role : Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview :

The Senior QA Engineer is a crucial, high-impact individual contributor role based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, requiring 4-8 years of experience to address the critical business challenge of scaling quickly while maintaining a high standard of reliability.

This position is focused on ensuring the robust quality and trustworthiness of the company's products, with a specialized emphasis on quality assurance for the iOS Mobile App.

The incumbent will own the QA process end-to-end, utilizing specific tools for detailed traceability and documentation, and will collaborate closely with engineering leadership to enforce high quality standards.

Core Responsibilities and Quality Assurance Deliverables :

- QA Process Ownership : Take full ownership of the QA process for the iOS Mobile App as a dedicated individual contributor, defining the testing strategy and execution plan for all new features and releases.

- Standard Establishment : Work closely with the India-based Engineering Lead to establish and maintain high-quality standards across the development lifecycle, ensuring that all code meets functional, non-functional, and performance requirements before deployment.

- Test Documentation and Traceability : Master the creation of detailed, traceable test documentation - including test cases, test plans, and execution reports - using Xray for Jira for comprehensive test management and regulatory compliance needs.

- iOS Mobile App Testing : Execute thorough testing across all phases (functional, integration, system, and regression) for the iOS Mobile App, covering various device configurations, operating system versions, and network conditions.

- SQL and Data Validation : Demonstrate familiarity with SQL to perform back-end data validation, integrity checks, and complex data querying as part of the testing process.

- Workflow Optimization : Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing QA workflows, test automation coverage, reporting mechanisms, and overall release efficiency to support rapid organizational scaling.

- Defect Management : Manage the entire defect lifecycle, including logging detailed, reproducible defects in Jira, prioritizing fixes, and verifying resolution through re-testing.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

- Experience : 4 to 8 years of work experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing roles.

- Mobile Expertise : 2+ years of hands-on experience with iOS Mobile App testing, demonstrating a strong understanding of the mobile testing environment and common mobile-specific issues (e. , interruptions, push notifications, performance).

- Startup Environment : 2+ years of experience working at a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability, ownership, and the ability to operate effectively with limited resources and rapidly changing priorities.

- Test Management Proficiency : Proficiency in using Jira and Xray for test management, including creating test case repositories, linking tests to requirements, and generating comprehensive traceability reports.

- Data Proficiency : Functional familiarity with SQL for testing and validating data integrity on the backend.

- Problem Solving : Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with mobile test automation frameworks (e., XCUITest, Appium).

- Prior experience with performance testing tools for mobile applications.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and using tools like Charles Proxy or Fiddler for API testing and debugging
