Role Overview : The candidate will join the Messaging Platform team responsible for the core backend systems of the platform.

Core Skills : Python Backend | PostgreSQL | Async APIs | SaaS Platform | Messaging Systems

Key Responsibilities :

- Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services supporting partner and client APIs.

- Managing systems related to WhatsApp channel lifecycle management.

- Developing and improving billing-related backend services.

- Building and maintaining integrations between internal and external systems.

- Taking ownership of technical domains and driving architectural decisions.

- Ensuring systems are reliable, observable, maintainable and scalable.

- Monitoring solutions in production and resolving operational issues.

- Collaborating with experienced engineers and technical leadership on platform evolution.

- Translating business requirements into robust backend solutions.

- Participating in the complete software lifecycle from design through production support.

Must-haves :

- Deep expertise in Python, including runtime behavior, asynchronous programming, memory management, type systems, and packaging.

- Extensive backend development experience in production environments.

- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and asynchronous services.

- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Experience with message queues, background workers, and distributed system integrations.

- Ability to take full ownership of technical domains and deliver solutions from development through production.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break complex requirements into manageable deliverables.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in remote environments.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Strong understanding of the business context behind technical solutions.

- Experience with WhatsApp Business Platform.

- Experience within B2B SaaS environments.

- Experience with messaging or communication platforms.

- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
