Description :
About Us :
We are at the forefront of developing a state-of-the-art digital weld operator for Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) applications. Our software, created with Siemens TIA Portal and Visual Studio Code, runs on industrial PLCs and integrates smoothly with various actuators, motors, and sensors. It also includes integrating with an multi-threaded C++ application on Linux, other embedded control systems and user-friendly Human-Machine Interface.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a Senior PLC Developer with a passion of innovation and proven track record in delivering high performance software solutions. In this role, you will work on a modern PLC implementation taking the next step of PLC development into modern software infrastructure enabling continuous integration, rapid releases with quality, ensuring testability and scalability. We believe you have a background of object oriented programming and can support software design on multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and implement PLC logic using platforms such as Siemens (TIA Portal / S7) or Other make PLCs.
- Develop HMI/SCADA interfaces, dashboards, and control screens.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and process engineers to create control system architectures.
- Define system functional requirements, IO lists, control narratives, and sequence of operations (SOPs).
- Create and maintain program documentation, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
- Ensure code follows internal quality, safety, and version-control standards.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
- Work with PM to estimate effort, timelines, and risks.
- Design the software on a PLC systems for industrial automation welding product(s), ensuring the code is clean, testable, and maintainable for long-term scalability.
You will be responsible to implement new external sensors, motors, actuators and logic to meet multiple customer applications requirements in the same code base. You will sustain a clear hardware abstraction and interfaces, addressing performance bottlenecks while ensuring that the software aligns with the broader system-of-systems architecture.
You will be responsible to integrate the software with a HMI, a control system (C++) for automated welding, a control system for welding power source (C++) with optimized communication protocols like PROFINET.
Must-Have Skills :
- 10 + ( Lead Role) / 7+ (Senior Role) years of experience in PLC software development and industrial automation.
- Expert-level proficiency with at least one major PLC platform :
1. Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7)
2. Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000)
3. Beckhoff (TwinCAT 2/3)
4. Mitsubishi, Omron, or others
- Languages : Structured Text 5+ years, knowledge of Ladder logic, Function block diagram
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols :
1. Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, Profibus.
- Hands-on experience with VFDs, servo drives, motion control, industrial sensors, and robotics.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).
Nice-to-Have Skills :
- Familiarity with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes or other industrial welding technologies
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern software development tools (e.g., CMake, Git).
- Simatic AX knowledge
Soft Skills :
- Problem Solver : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Collaborative : Excellent communication skills to work effectively with crossdisciplinary teams.
- Proactive : Self-motivated and capable of independently prioritizing tasks in a fastpaced environment.
