Senior PHP Engineer

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to architect and deliver high-performance web applications. This role involves hands-on backend development, API engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to build scalable digital products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deploy secure and scalable backend applications using PHP (7/8).

- Architect and integrate RESTful services for internal and external systems.

- Collaborate with UI/UX and front-end engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.

- Implement and maintain robust database structures, stored procedures, and optimized SQL queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

- Perform performance tuning, debugging, and proactive issue resolution.

- Follow coding standards, conduct peer code reviews, and apply best software engineering practices.

- Ensure application security, data integrity, and high system availability.

- Document development processes, workflows, and technical designs.

- Work closely with QA and PMO teams to ensure timely, quality-driven delivery of features.

Technical Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

- Minimum 7 years professional experience in backend engineering with PHP.

- Strong expertise in OOP, MVC architecture, and frameworks like Symfony (mandatory), Laravel, CodeIgniter.

- Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX for integration purposes.

- Deep understanding of REST/SOAP API development & third-party API integrations.

- Proficiency in MySQL/PostgreSQL and database query optimization.

- Solid knowledge of Git or other version control tools.

- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and cloud environments (preferred).

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication, team collaboration, and ownership mindset.

Nice to Have :

- Experience with microservices and modern backend patterns.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization tools.

- Exposure to caching systems (Redis/Memcached) to improve app performance.
