Senior Performance Test Engineer - JMeter/LoadRunner

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly experienced senior performance test engineer with 6+ years of expertise in performance testing of large-scale, web-based, and enterprise applications. The candidate will be responsible for defining performance testing strategies, executing complex performance tests, analysing system behaviour under load, and driving performance improvements in collaboration with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities :

- Define and own the end-to-end performance testing strategy for applications and platforms.

- Analyse business and non-functional requirements to design realistic workloads, user models, and test scenarios.

- Estimate performance testing efforts and plan testing activities across releases.

- Design, develop, and maintain advanced performance test scripts using tools such as Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, and LoadRunner.

- Execute load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests across multiple environments (UI + API)

- Ensure performance benchmarks and SLAs are validated before production releases.

- Monitor application and infrastructure performance using Datadog, Grafana, ELK, or similar APM tools.

- Perform deep-dive analysis on response times (average, median, and percentile metrics such as P90 P95 and P99), throughput, error rates, and system-level metrics including CPU, memory, disc I/O, and network utilisation to identify performance bottlenecks and scalability limits.

- Identify root causes of performance bottlenecks and work closely with teams to drive resolution.

- Enhance and automate performance tests using Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Maintain reusable frameworks, utilities, and best practices for performance engineering.

- Prepare executive-level performance reports, highlighting risks, trends, and recommendations.

- Communicate test results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions :

Must-Have Skills :

- Performance Testing Tools : Proficiency in tools like Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, and LoadView.

- Scripting Languages : Java, Python, or JavaScript for scripting and test automation.

- Monitoring Tools : Experience with APM tools like Datadog, Grafana, and ELK.

- Databases : SQL/NoSQL knowledge for data preparation and performance analysis.

- Web Technologies : Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, web protocols, APIs, CSS, and XPath.

- Operating Systems and Hardware : Basic understanding of CPU, memory, network, and server architecture.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Hands-on experience with modern performance testing tools such as k6 Gatling, and Blazemeter.

- Experience with Playwright for load and performance testing, especially for modern web applications.

- Experience working with cloud-native architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
