We are looking for an experienced Senior Node.js Developer with strong expertise in backend application development, scalable system architecture and API development.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-performance backend services and enterprise-grade applications using Node.js.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, database management, cloud platforms and application performance optimisation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.

- Build robust RESTful APIs and microservices to support business applications.

- Develop reusable modules, libraries and backend components.

- Implement authentication, authorisation and application security mechanisms.

- Design and optimise database schemas, queries and data access layers.

- Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.

- Implement asynchronous processing, event-driven architecture and message-based integrations.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues.

- Write clean, maintainable and testable code following development standards.

- Develop unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, QA engineers and product teams.

- Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments and cloud-based environments.

- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical design decisions.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8 - 15 years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on Node.js backend development experience.

- Excellent proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript / TypeScript.

- Strong experience with Express.js, NestJS or similar backend frameworks.

- Expertise in REST API development and microservices architecture.

- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops and concurrency.

- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.

- Knowledge of Redis, caching strategies and performance optimisation.

- Experience with authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.

- Understanding of event-driven architecture and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes.

- Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP cloud environments.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving and system design skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience designing distributed systems and high-availability applications.

- Knowledge of GraphQL and WebSocket-based applications.

- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.

- Exposure to monitoring, logging and application observability tools.

- Experience leading technical discussions and mentoring development teams.
