Senior Network Specialist - Routing & Switching

Job Description

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Specialist to design, implement, manage, and optimize our global network infrastructure. This role requires end-to-end ownership of network projects, from system design to operational support, ensuring network availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in network infrastructure management, application migration, Infoblox DDI, automation, and the ability to collaborate across global teams to deliver world-class network solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Network Design & Implementation :

- Design and implement new network solutions or enhance existing network efficiency.

- Lead end-to-end network project execution, including application migration and infrastructure deployment.

- Configure and support network devices including routers, switches, and Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).

- Provide technical direction for systems migration and integration projects.

Operations & Support :

- Manage incident, problem, and change management for Global WAN/LAN & Security infrastructure.

- Lead high-critical incident calls involving multi-component and multi-platform issues in collaboration with OS, DB, Middleware, and Application teams.

- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to improve network stability.

- Maintain network documentation including physical and logical inventory, traffic flow diagrams, and operational procedures.

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management :

- Identify and implement service improvement initiatives for risk mitigation and service stability.

- Ensure compliance during system audits, closing vulnerabilities and gaps promptly.

- Proactively anticipate risks and drive mitigation plans.

- Contribute to automation efforts to streamline deployments and operational tasks.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Work with global, cross-functional teams to support business-as-usual (BAU) operations and projects.

- Interact with clients and stakeholders to provide expert advice and guidance.

- Meet or exceed SLAs for timeliness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

- Operate in a 24x7 global environment supporting multiple customers with shift-based coordination.

Required Experience & Skills :

- 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, implementation, and operational management.

- Strong expertise in routing, switching, LAN/WAN, and network security fundamentals.

- Proven experience in application migration and network infrastructure deployment.

- Experience with Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).

- Automation/Scripting experience (Python, Ansible, or similar) preferred.

- Strong incident/problem/change management in a global enterprise environment.

- Ability to navigate complex, dynamic environments and influence across multiple levels.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and Visio for reporting and documentation.

Educational Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Masters degree (preferred, not mandatory).

Relevant Certifications :

Mandatory / Highly Preferred :

- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise)

- Infoblox Core DDI / NIOS Certification

- ITIL v4 Foundation (for Incident/Problem/Change Management)

Good to Have :

- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise / Security

- Palo Alto / Fortinet / Checkpoint Firewall Certifications

- Cloud Networking Certification (AWS Advanced Networking / Azure Network Engineer Associate)

- Automation Certifications (Python for Network Engineers, Ansible, DevNet Associate/Professional)
