About the Role :

- We are looking for an experienced Senior Multimedia Audio Test Automation Engineer to lead the validation of key multimedia featuresespecially automated audio quality testingon pre-production engineering sample mobile devices.

- This role is critical to ensuring world-class multimedia performance before products reach mass production. You will design high-precision automation frameworks, develop advanced audio analysis scripts, and ensure seamless testing across various output peripherals.

- In addition to audio, you will also contribute significantly to automation of camera and other multimedia subsystems, ensuring an exceptional end-to-end user experience.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Audio Test Automation (Primary Focus) :

- Design, develop, and maintain a robust, scalable, and fully unattended audio automation framework for Android mobile devices.

- Build automated scripts to measure and detect :

1. Noise levels

2. Distortion & artifacts

3. Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)

4. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)

5. Frequency response

- Automate test cases across all major audio output paths :

1. Built-in Speakers (top & bottom)

2. Wired Headsets (USB-C / 3.5mm adapter)

3. Bluetooth Headsets (A2DP, HFP, LE Audio profiles)

- Develop algorithms/frameworks to detect various audio noise types with high accuracy.

- Work on audio drivers, audio paths, and audio encode/decode pipelines.

- Integrate automated audio tests into CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous regression in unattended lab environments.

- Analyze failures, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with software, hardware, and driver teams to close issues.

- Configure and manage audio test instruments including :

1. Audio analyzers (e.g., Audio Precision)

2. Head & Torso Simulators (HATS)

3. Signal generators and measurement equipment

2. Camera & Multimedia Test Automation (Secondary Focus) :

- Create automation scripts for critical camera KPIs, including :

1. Face Detection : Accuracy, robustness, response time

2. FPS : Stability during video preview and recording

3. Preview Quality : Latency, rendering accuracy, supported resolutions

4. Motion Detection : Sensitivity and precision

- Contribute to automation of :

1. Video playback/recording performance

2. Codec validation (H.264, HEVC, AV1)

3. Display and multimedia subsystem behaviors

3. Automation Framework & Collaboration :

- Write clean, modular, and well-documented automation code using Python and related scripting tools.

- Develop reusable automation components and ensure scalability across testing environments.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teamssoftware, hardware, camera, multimedia, and QAto drive end-to-end validation.

- Participate in debugging sessions, feature reviews, and automation strategy discussions.

Required Skills & Expertise :

- 5- 7 years of experience in multimedia test automation, with strong focus on audio testing.

- Deep knowledge of :

1. Audio drivers & signal paths

2. Audio encoding/decoding (PCM, AAC, SBC, LC3, etc.)

3. Objective audio measurement techniques

- Strong hands-on experience in :

1. Python-based automation

2. Android/ADB tools

3. Automated validation frameworks

- Experience in analyzing audio anomalies : noise, clipping, distortion, artifacts.

- Familiarity with audio measurement equipment (Audio Precision, HATS, signal generators).

- Good understanding of Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP, HFP, LE Audio).

- Ability to perform root cause analysis and work with engineering teams.

Good to Have :

- Knowledge of camera HAL, media frameworks, and Android multimedia architecture.

- Exposure to ML-based audio analysis or DSP techniques.

- Experience with Jenkins, Git, CI/CD systems.

- Background in mobile device testing or chipset-level multimedia validation.
