Experience :

3-5 years (minimum) in enterprise-grade migrations from VMware to Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenStack

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Migration Engineer to lead and execute the migration of enterprise workloads from VMware environments to Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenStack. This is a critical technical role requiring strong hands-on experience in planning, executing, and troubleshooting end-to-end cloud-native migration projects.

You will be part of a specialized team modernizing infrastructure and must bring deep technical insight, strategic thinking, and a track record of successful VMware to Red Hat migrations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and execute end-to-end migration of workloads from VMware vSphere/vCenter to Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenStack environments.

- Analyze existing VMware infrastructure, applications, and dependencies to build optimal migration strategies.

- Design, configure, and deploy enterprise-grade OpenShift and OpenStack solutions for migrated workloads.

- Work closely with architecture, security, and application teams to ensure seamless migration and integration.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during and post-migration phases.

- Prepare technical documentation, migration runbooks, and knowledge transfers.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in VMware to Red Hat OpenShift/OpenStack enterprise migration projects.

- Deep expertise in VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) platforms.

- Strong hands-on skills with Red Hat OpenShift (Kubernetes-based PaaS) and Red Hat OpenStack (IaaS).

- Solid understanding of containerization, virtualization, storage, networking, and security in hybrid cloud environments.

- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar) and CI/CD workflows.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Red Hat certifications (RHCE, RHCSA, or OpenShift-specific certs).

- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

- Knowledge of migration tools or frameworks (e.g., Migration Toolkit for Containers).
