Job Title : Senior Migration Engineer

Position Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Migration Engineer to lead complex migration projects across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in infrastructure, application, and data migration, with proven experience in planning, executing, and optimizing enterprise-scale migrations.

You will work closely with project managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime, meeting both technical and business goals.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Migration Planning & Design :

- Assess existing infrastructure, applications, and workloads to create migration strategies.

- Design end-to-end migration architectures for cloud, hybrid, or on-premises environments.

- Define migration scope, timelines, and risk mitigation plans.

2. Execution & Implementation :

- Lead the migration of servers, databases, applications, M365, and storage systems.

- Use industry-standard tools such as Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub, Quest ODM, Cloudamize, ShareGate, and native utilities.

- Implement cutover strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

3. Technical Leadership :

- Serve as the SME for migration methodologies, tools, and best practices.

- Mentor junior engineers and support technical teams during complex migrations.

- Coordinate with architects to align with cloud adoption frameworks and governance policies.

4. Performance & Optimization :

- Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance during transitions.

- Validate data integrity, application functionality, and system performance post-migration.

- Document lessons learned and recommend process improvements.

5. Collaboration & Communication :

- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and share progress updates.

- Work with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory standards.

- Prepare detailed migration runbooks, test plans, and rollback procedures.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in migration-focused roles.

- Strong expertise in Azure, AWS, M365, or GCP.

- Hands-on experience with :

- Infrastructure migration (VMware, Hyper-V, physical to cloud)

- Application migration

- Data migration (SQL, file systems, SharePoint, Exchange)

- Proficiency in PowerShell, scripting, and migration automation.

- Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security in migration contexts.

- Proven track record with large-scale, enterprise-grade migration projects.

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications : Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, M365 Enterprise Administrator Expert.

- Experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations and cross-cloud DR setups.

- Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
