We are seeking a highly skilled Senior / Lead Cloud Engineer to architect, build, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will oversee cloud operations, lead engineering initiatives, drive best practices, and enable automation across the organization.
You will collaborate with development, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to design robust, resilient cloud environments that support business-critical applications.
This role is ideal for someone who has deep expertise in AWS/Azure/GCP, strong understanding of modern cloud-native architectures, and hands-on experience with automation, containers, CI/CD, IaC, and security governance.
Key Responsibilities :
Cloud Architecture & Strategy :
- Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies, tools, and services.
- Create reference architectures, landing zones, and reusable templates.
- Drive the organizations cloud transformation strategy and modernization initiatives.
Infrastructure Automation & DevOps :
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep.
- Automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Implement configuration management using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SSM.
- Build automation for monitoring, scaling, logging, and self-healing systems.
Cloud Security & Compliance :
- Ensure infrastructure adheres to security best practices including IAM governance, encryption, network segmentation, and secrets management.
- Implement and manage Zero Trust, role-based access, and security scanning.
- Work with security teams to ensure compliance with frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Perform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and remediation planning.
Operations, Reliability & Performance :
- Manage production cloud environments with high uptime and reliability.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning using CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
- Build and support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud and network issues with cross-functional teams.
Containerization & Platform Engineering :
- Architect and support containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE), OpenShift.
- Design Helm charts, operators, service meshes (Istio/Linkerd), and multi-cluster strategies.
- Implement cloud-native patterns for microservices, logging, tracing, and networking.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Technical Leadership :
- Partner with engineering leads, architects, and product teams to define cloud roadmaps.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design reviews.
- Provide clear documentation, best practices, and playbooks.
- Own end-to-end delivery of cloud initiatives and drive engineering excellence.
Qualifications & Skills :
Must-Have :
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (certifications preferred).
Proficiency in :
- Terraform / CloudFormation / ARM / Bicep
- Kubernetes, Docker
- Linux administration
- CI/CD pipelines
- Networking (VPC, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, VPN, routing)
- Strong scripting skills: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and automation.
Good to Have :
- Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Functions, Cloud Run).
- Exposure to Big Data / analytics services (EMR, BigQuery, Synapse).
- Familiarity with service mesh, event-driven architectures, or API gateways.
- Experience in cost optimization and FinOps practices.
- Prior experience leading cloud migration or modernization programs
