Overview:

Seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join the development team and work on the flagship point-of-sale product, in production since 2006.

Tech Stack:

- Java (Thin client UI and Backend)

- SQL Server (via JDBC)

- Dataflex (Legacy components)

- Vue.js (Browser-based app)

- Git DevOps workflows

Responsibilities:

- Feature development, performance, and stability of the Java POS backend.

- Build and extend connections to supplier/distributor partners, payment systems, and third-party services.

- Build connection points between the Java platform and the new Vue.js browser front end.

- Disciplined retirement of legacy components.

Requirements:

- 8+ years coding experience in Java.

- Foundational experience with SQL.

- Functional understanding of JavaScript.

- Strong understanding of Git DevOps workflows.

- Experience working on APIs / integrations.

- Ability to communicate well by video and email in English.

Working Hours :

- Working hours are IST, but you must be available from 8:00 to 10:00 AM ET for collaboration with US team members.

Hiring Arrangement :

- Independent contractor engagement, full-time availability. Paid weekly.
