Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot and practical experience building AI-powered features/applications.

The ideal candidate has a solid backend engineering foundation combined with real-world exposure to integrating AI/ML models, LLMs, or GenAI capabilities into production systems not just theoretical AI knowledge.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Backend Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

- Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices.

2. AI Development & Integration :

- Design and integrate AI/ML models or LLM-based features into backend applications.

- Work with GenAI tools/frameworks (OpenAI API, LangChain/LangChain4j, Spring AI, Vector Databases, etc.).

- Build RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, embeddings, and prompt-engineering solutions where applicable.

- Collaborate with data science/ML teams to productionize AI models via Java-based services.

- Evaluate and implement AI use cases (chatbots, recommendation engines, intelligent automation, document processing, etc.).

3. System Design & Architecture :

- Participate in architecture discussions for scalable, secure, and AI-integrated systems.

- Design database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) supporting both transactional and AI-driven workloads.

- Ensure API design supports low-latency AI model inference calls.

4. DevOps & Collaboration :

- Work with CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment of Java + AI services.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Data Science).

- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and mentoring junior developers.

5. Quality & Best Practices :

- Write unit/integration tests; ensure code quality and coverage.

- Follow secure coding practices, especially around data handling for AI models.

- Document architecture, APIs, and AI integration workflows.

Required Skills :

- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.

- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture, REST APIs.

- Practical experience integrating AI/ML models or LLMs into applications (not just academic knowledge).

- Hands-on exposure to GenAI tools/APIs OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain/LangChain4j, or Spring AI.

- Experience with Vector Databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, pgVector, etc.) is a plus.

- Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience building or integrating chatbots, copilots, or intelligent document processing systems.

- Exposure to Python (for AI/ML tooling interoperability) is a plus.

- Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning basics.

- Prior experience in a product-based company or fast-paced startup environment.
