Senior Java Application Support Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :


- Investigate, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of complex technical issues for senior external clients, internal stakeholders, and other marquee engineering teams.

- Serve as a point of escalation for support issues from L1 teams.

- Automate manual processes to increase operational efficiency and reduce risk.

- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents promptly.

- Continuously improve processes and systems to enhance reliability, scalability, and client experience.

- Influence and provide recommendations to improve the roadmap for enhancing Marquee client experience.

- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and reusable code snippets for clients and internal engineering teams.

- Mentor and guide junior team members to ensure successful issue resolution.

- Develop and mature the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) strategy to ensure platform performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve client issues and ensure smooth application operations.

Must-Have Technical Skills :

Primary Skills :

- Hands-on experience in Java programming.

- Ability to debug API calls and write quality-of-life scripts/snippets for clients.

- Experience creating debug tooling scripts.

- Basic understanding of UI and API integration.

- Basic knowledge of SQL.

- Strong client-facing skills: presentable, empathetic communicator, able to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.

- Ability to manage support issues while building and automating solutions for recurring problems.

Secondary Skills :

- Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.

- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Shell or Perl.

- Basic knowledge of RDBMS environments (Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, DB2, etc.)

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
