Senior ITAM Specialist - Vendor Management System

Key Responsibilities :

IT Asset Lifecycle Management :

- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets (hardware, software, cloud, and mobile devices).

- Maintain a comprehensive CMDB/ITAM repository with up-to-date records.

Governance & Compliance :

- Ensure compliance with software licensing, vendor contracts, and audit requirements.

- Develop and enforce ITAM policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with ISO/ITIL

practices.

- Lead responses to internal and external audits related to IT assets.

Optimization & Cost Control :

- Analyze usage patterns to reduce underutilized licenses and optimize vendor agreements.

- Partner with procurement and finance teams to negotiate better licensing models and manage renewals.

Process Leadership & Improvement :

- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure ITAM program effectiveness.

- Drive automation of asset management processes using ITSM/ITAM tools (e., ServiceNow,

Flexera, Snow, BMC Remedy, Ivanti).

- Lead initiatives to integrate ITAM processes with CMDB, ITSM, and security/compliance tools.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for ITAM across the organization.

- Collaborate with Security, IT Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Vendor Management

teams.

- Mentor junior ITAM specialists and guide cross-functional teams on best practices.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of IT Asset Management frameworks (ITIL, ISO 19770).

Hands-on experience with ITAM/Discovery tools such as :

- ServiceNow ITAM/CMDB

- Flexera One

- Snow License Manager

- BMC Helix

- Ivanti Neurons

- Expertise in software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, SaaS platforms, cloud providers like AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management (desktops, laptops, servers, mobile devices, network equipment).

- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization and SaaS asset management.

- Knowledge of data governance, GDPR, SOX, and IT security compliance requirements.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

- 4+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, with at least 3+ years in a senior or lead role.

- Proven experience managing large-scale IT asset portfolios in enterprise environments.

- Experience leading software license audits and vendor negotiations.

Certifications (preferred) :

- ITIL v4 Certification

- Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)

- Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP)

- Microsoft/Oracle license management certifications (plus).
