Job Title : Senior IT Engineer Storage & Backup

Location : Hyderabad, India

Role Overview :

We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer Storage & Backup to lead the provisioning, migration, management, and decommissioning of enterprise-grade storage and backup systems. The role involves working with leading storage and backup technologies, automating administrative processes, and supporting disaster recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in storage and backup administration, automation, and troubleshooting, with the ability to handle Sev-1 incidents and work in a 24x7 environment, including night shifts.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provision, migrate, manage, and decommission enterprise storage and backup solutions.

- Administer and support NetApp Clustered ONTAP, Dell Isilon (Powerscale), and Pure Storage platforms.

- Manage Cohesity Data Protect and Dell EMC Networker backup solutions.

- Handle SnapMirror/SnapVault replication, backup catalog disaster recovery, and related processes.

- Administer tape libraries (Oracle, Spectra Logic, or similar).

- Automate systems administration and provisioning using internal tools, configuration management, and scripting (Ansible, Python preferred).

- Monitor storage and backup utilization, provide insights into system performance, and ensure high availability.

- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve critical incidents.

- Drive efficiency improvements and automation initiatives within the storage and backup environment

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- 3- 4 years of experience in storage and backup administration.

- Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Solaris operating systems.

- Strong knowledge of end-to-end storage and backup operations.

- Ability to manage and resolve Sev-1 incidents and work in night/rotational shifts.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (verbal & written).

- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Proficiency in Python programming and basic knowledge of Ansible.

- Exposure to Splunk queries and dashboards.

- Certifications from vendors such as NetApp, Dell, and Cohesity.

- Experience with SAN, NAS, AWS, NetBackup, Hitachi, Isilon (Powerscale), OneFS.

- Understanding of data science concepts and scalable architectures (advantageous).

- Passion for automation and emerging technologies (including Machine Learning tools).

- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

- Comfortable working in a structured, performance-driven environment with high ethical standards.
