Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking candidates who will be part of the Professional Services Group and lead a team of implementation consultants. An Implementation Consultant uses their functional knowledge to understand client requirements, advice on solution design in line with Product and industry best practices and use their technical knowledge to configure and test the solution for our clients after the initial purchase has already taken place.
An attractive candidate will typically have ten or more years of experience and up to three years of leadership responsibility in managing medium-to-large-scale, technical/functional project implementations. The role involves close collaboration with client stakeholders, internal product teams, and operations to ensure high-quality, reliable, and efficient reference data services.
Industry Experience:
Our Client is looking to augment its Professional Services team with someone having specific industry experience within the IT arena having previously worked with on projects in Data management space for asset types like Equities, Bonds, FX, Futures, Forwards, Options, Swaps, Volatilities, Credit Curves, and Commodities with client facing exposure. Domain experience in Asset management, Custody, Hedge fund, Pension Fund, Risk would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery Ownership:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of reference data solutions for large-scale financial services or related clients.
- Independently manage a workstream within a larger implementation project, including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Provide hands-on configuration and integration support for reference data management platforms and solutions.
- Monitor service performance, drive continuous improvements, and manage service risks proactively.
Project Leadership & Governance:
- Develop clear implementation plans, timelines, and ensure adherence to project milestones and governance processes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and make decisions to keep the project on track.
- Act as the primary point of contact for reference data domain expertise within the project.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of data analysts, specialists, and support engineers across locations (onsite/offshore).
- Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and facilitate upskilling and growth.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Facilitate workshops, technical sessions, and requirement discussions with clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, QA, and Business Analysts to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on solution design and implementation approach.
Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing:
- Mentor junior implementation specialists and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
- Promote best practices in reference data management and implementation processes
Required Skill sets:
- 10+ years of total experience, with 3+ years in service delivery or client-facing roles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to financial products, market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, S\&P), and related tools/platforms.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, client-driven environment with competing priorities.
- Experience/knowledge of ORACLE or similar RDBMS data management systems, workflow tools, JAVA and application server technologies.
- Experience managing multiple clients and a global client base with strong knowledge of Agile/SCRUM processes. Experience in leading teams located in multiple regions would be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of Reference Data platforms (e.g., Markit EDM, Bloomberg, Investran, NeuXam, SimCorp, BlackRock -Aladdin, Asset Control- Eagle, Fencore, etc.)
Preferred Skill sets:
- Experience with data management platforms or cloud-based reference data solutions.
- Familiarity with agile ways of working and cross-functional teams.
