Experience : 12+ years (Minimum 6 years in COBOL and 3 years in architecture roles)

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Modernization Architect with a strong background in COBOL and RPG on IBM i (AS400) systems. The ideal candidate will support the modernization of legacy green-screen banking applications and work closely with architects and middleware teams to align legacy systems with modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and understand legacy IBM i (AS400) COBOL/RPG applications.

- Break down green-screen programs into modular, maintainable code.

- Collaborate with architects to ensure code fits modernization plans.

- Define data contracts and expose business logic for integration.

- Write and optimize SQL queries on DB2/400.

- Explain backend logic and data behaviors to QA and front-end teams.

- Participate in code reviews and integration testing.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, RPG, and CL on IBM i (AS400).

- Proficient in DB2/400 complex queries, joins, and stored procedures.

- Good understanding of green-screen UI flows and business logic.

- Skilled in documenting legacy code and extracting business rules.

Preferred : Exposure to REST API integration and middleware concepts.
