Role & Responsibilities :
Hardware Validation & Post-Silicon Validation :
- Define, develop, and execute validation test plans for post-silicon bring-up and validation.
- Perform functional, electrical, and performance validation of SoCs, chipsets, and system boards.
- Conduct system-level validation, stress testing, and interoperability testing for hardware platforms.
- Debug and root-cause silicon and board-level issues in collaboration with design, firmware, and hardware teams.
Post-Silicon Debug & Analysis :
- Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other lab equipment for signal integrity and power analysis.
- Work closely with design teams to identify RTL/firmware bugs and propose hardware/software workarounds.
- Characterize power, thermal, and performance across various PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature) conditions.
Board Bring-Up & Firmware Interaction :
- Assist in board bring-up activities, including BIOS, bootloader, and driver-level validation.
- Collaborate with firmware and software teams for feature enablement and silicon debug.
Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain detailed test plans, validation reports, and issue-tracking logs.
- Provide timely updates to cross-functional teams and management.
Required Skills & Expertise :
- Strong Expertise in Post-Silicon Validation & Hardware Debug (8+ years in SoC/board/system validation).
- Deep understanding of SoC Architecture, CPU, memory hierarchy, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB, DDR, Ethernet, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment - oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- Knowledge of hardware validation methodologies (corner cases, stress, and system validation).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or Shell) for automation of validation tasks.
- Familiarity with silicon bring-up process and low-level firmware/driver interaction.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Understanding of power and thermal characterization techniques.
