Role Overview :

As a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer, you will serve as a technical architect and lead practitioner, responsible for designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, product managers, and key business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust, high-performance cloud solutions. Your work will directly influence the reliability, security, and efficiency of our digital ecosystem, ensuring that our infrastructure not only supports current operational demands but also scales seamlessly to meet future growth and innovation targets. This is a fully remote position, requiring a high degree of autonomy and the ability to drive technical excellence across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and implement secure, cost-effective cloud environments on GCP to support mission-critical applications and improve overall system availability.

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to reduce manual overhead and ensure environment consistency.

- Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, accelerating the software delivery lifecycle and improving deployment frequency.

- Optimize cloud resource utilization and performance by monitoring system metrics and implementing proactive scaling strategies to manage operational costs.

- Lead the migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native architectures, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity for end-users.

- Establish and enforce security best practices and compliance standards across the cloud environment to protect sensitive data and mitigate operational risks.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing complex GCP architectures, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery, with a focus on high-availability patterns.

- Proven ability to script and automate infrastructure tasks using Terraform or similar IaC frameworks, ensuring repeatable and scalable deployments.

- Strong proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, to support microservices-based application development.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a proactive mindset, with the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment while maintaining high standards of collaboration.

- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by 8 - 12 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or systems architecture.

- Demonstrated adaptability in managing competing priorities and navigating the technical challenges of a fast-paced, distributed organizational structure.
