Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and execute strategic plans for key engineering programs, aligning technical initiatives with business objectives.

- Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers while fostering technical ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

- Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable software applications.

- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and other cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

- Establish engineering best practices across architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and AI/ML enablement.

- Manage project priorities, timelines, deliverables, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

- Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews to improve system design, maintainability, performance, and technical standards.

- Drive roadmap planning, prioritisation, and execution in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.

- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to engineering team members.

- Define and monitor engineering metrics and KPIs, communicating progress and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.

- Identify project risks, blockers, and dependencies, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.

- Support recruitment, technical assessments, and team development to strengthen engineering capabilities.

- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and efficient software development practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application development, and system design.

- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

- Knowledge of scalable application architecture, software testing, CI/CD, and production support.

- Ability to coordinate technical projects, manage priorities, and deliver against deadlines.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Effective communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.

- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, design, and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms, distributed systems, DevOps, and observability tools.

- Exposure to AI/ML-enabled applications and engineering automation.

- Experience with project planning, delivery metrics, and engineering process optimisation.

Education Required :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

- Substantial team leadership and engineering management experience is expected for this role.
