Role Overview : Sr. Director of Engineering
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Sr. Director of Engineering to lead our core product engineering organization.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping technology strategy, driving architectural direction, and ensuring world-class engineering execution across backend, frontend, and data engineering teams.
You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Business stakeholders to build scalable, intelligent, and high-performing systems that power our next-generation decisioning platform.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of deep technical expertise, strong execution discipline, and a passion for building and mentoring exceptional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership :
- Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing engineering team across multiple technical domains.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with HR and Talent teams on recruitment, onboarding, and capability development.
Technology & Architecture :
- Drive architectural direction for scalable, distributed, cloud-native systems.
- Work closely with architects to evolve platform and application architecture.
- Uphold engineering excellence across code quality, design reviews, testing, observability, and infrastructure best practices.
Engineering Delivery :
- Own roadmap execution in close partnership with Product and cross-functional leaders.
- Ensure timely, reliable, secure, and high-quality delivery of product features and platforms.
- Advance engineering velocity through automation, tooling, and refined development processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Align engineering priorities with Product, Data Science, Design, and Go-to-Market teams.
- Represent Engineering in strategic planning and organization-wide initiatives.
- Translate product vision into actionable engineering plans and measurable outcomes.
Operational & Technical Excellence :
- Champion a metrics-driven engineering culture (SLAs, availability, latency, error rates, etc.
- Own system reliability, incident management, scalability, and technical debt governance.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, tooling advancements, and innovation.
Required Qualifications :
- 16+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, production-grade platforms or applications.
- Strong hands-on expertise in backend development, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (backend, frontend, data engineering).
- Deep knowledge of engineering management, agile delivery, and architectural best practices.
- Ability to blend technical depth with strategic leadership and organizational influence.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in SaaS or AI/Data-driven platforms.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, agentic systems, and modern AI-driven architectures.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices.
- Strong communication skills, with experience partnering with executive leadership
