Senior Development Engineer - Temporal

Location : Mumbai | 5 Days work from office

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Temporal to build scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems. You will work on complex business workflows, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop production-grade workflows using Temporal.

- Build scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems using Temporal and microservices.

- Manage long-running workflows, retries, failures, state, and asynchronous processes.

- Work on migrating legacy systems to event-driven/workflow-based architectures.

- Troubleshoot distributed-system and workflow issues using execution history and performance metrics.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.

- Mentor junior engineers on Temporal and backend engineering best practices.

Required Skills :

- 3 - 10 years of backend/software development experience.

- Strong hands-on production experience with Temporal / Temporal.io.

- Good understanding of Workflows, Activities, Workers, Task Queues, Retries, Timeouts, and failure handling.

- Strong experience in Distributed Systems, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architecture.

- Proficiency in Go/Golang, Java, or Python.

- Strong understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and system design.

- Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, or Cloud is a plus.

- Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or engineering.

Important :

Candidates with only basic or limited exposure to Temporal will not be considered. We are looking for strong, hands-on Temporal developers with production experience.
