Senior Database Administrator - PostgreSQL

Key Responsibilities :

- Monitor database health, availability, and performance for PostgreSQL and MySQL instances.

- Perform basic administrative tasks such as backup/restore, user management, and replication monitoring.

- Respond to on-call alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and escalate when needed.

- Assist in routine maintenance operations, including upgrades, patching, and configuration tuning.

- Collaborate with senior DBE team members and DevOps teams on reliability and automation initiatives.

- Follow operational runbooks and update documentation as needed.

- Maintain database security standards and support audit/compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications :

- 3 to 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.

- Familiarity with database architecture, SQL query basics, and performance troubleshooting.

- Understanding of backup and recovery concepts.

- Willingness to support 24/7 on-call rotation.

- Basic knowledge of Linux-based systems and command-line tools.

- Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) :

- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. , CloudWatch, Prometheus, Nagios).

- Exposure to cloud-based databases (AWS RDS/Aurora).

- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. , Terraform) or scripting (e.g. , Bash, Python).

- Experience working in production environments with SRE or DevOps practices.
