About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in Snowflake and Data Vault 2.0 to support the development and migration of enterprise data solutions. You will be working as part of a collaborative team on a major data warehouse initiative with a focus on cloud transformation, enterprise data governance, and modeling best practices.

As a key member of the data architecture team, you will play a central role in designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as implementing Data Vault 2.0 modeling frameworks for enterprise-grade Snowflake-based warehouses.

Key Responsibilities :

- Collaborate with the Cox FTE team to build and optimize a Snowflake-based data warehouse to support BI, analytics, and regulatory reporting requirements.

- Design and implement Data Vault 2.0-based data models using industry-standard tools like ERWIN, ER/Studio, or equivalent.

- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.

- Translate complex business requirements and rules into scalable data models and data mapping specifications for Snowflake.

- Support data migration efforts from legacy platforms (e.g., SQL Server) to Snowflake.

- Partner with data integration teams to provide guidance on metadata, lineage, and business rules translation.

- Ensure model compliance with enterprise standards, governance frameworks, and audit requirements.

- Provide coaching and guidance to development teams on data modeling best practices and repository tool usage.

- Define data ownership, obtain stakeholder approvals, and effectively communicate data models to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Analyze performance impacts of data models and identify opportunities for optimization and risk mitigation.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience

- (Masters degree with 2+ years of experience also accepted. In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of relevant work experience required.)

- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on data modeling experience in enterprise data warehouse environments.

- Strong proficiency in data modeling standards, especially Data Vault 2.0, and experience implementing it in Snowflake.

- Experience with SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure cloud data environments.

- Skilled in using modeling tools like ERWIN, ER/Studio, or equivalent.

- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data integration pipelines.

- Proficient in SQL, with experience developing data mapping specifications for migration and integration.

- Excellent communication skills capable of translating abstract concepts into concrete data structures for varied audiences.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in matrixed team environments and provide technical leadership.
