Key Responsibilities :

- Stored Procedure Validation : Review and validate large volumes of stored procedures post-migration to ensure functionality and data integrity.

- Migration Assessment : Analyze outcomes of migrations (Sybase - SQL Server, SQL Server - PostgreSQL) to identify gaps or issues and recommend corrective actions.

- Code Refactoring : Rewrite or refactor stored procedures for optimal compatibility and performance in the target environment.

- Performance Tuning : Investigate query execution times and resource usage; apply best practices for improvement.

- Cross-Team Collaboration : Partner with database architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure alignment and consistency across environments.

- Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of stored procedure changes, validation outcomes, and performance benchmarks for compliance and audit purposes.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering or database development

- Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Sybase

- Proficient in T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, and writing/debugging complex stored procedures

- Proven experience with database migration projects and post-migration validation

- Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data modeling, and version control (Git or similar)

- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with automated testing/validation frameworks for stored procedures

- Knowledge of cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in regulated industries with a focus on audit-compliant documentation
