Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced and technically sound Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Teradata, ETL development, and Unix scripting.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, scripting logic, and supporting business-critical ETL processes in enterprise data environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries in Teradata for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.

- Build and automate ETL workflows using Datastage and shell scripting.

- Develop and support custom solutions using Python and Perl scripting for automation and transformation logic.

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and fine-tune existing data pipelines and jobs running on Unix/Linux environments.

- Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to transform business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for data processing issues.

- Contribute to migration efforts and assist with onboarding new tools like Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience with Teradata SQL and Teradata utilities.

- Advanced knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Python programming.

- Experience in Perl scripting and IBM Datastage ETL development.

- Solid understanding of data analysis and transformation concepts.

- Proven ability to work with large datasets and optimize query performance.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with Airflow for workflow orchestration.

- Exposure to Mainframe systems and data migration projects.
