Senior Data Engineer - Banking/Financial Domain

SG IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions for enterprise banking and financial services clients. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in modern data engineering technologies, cloud platforms, and large-scale data processing systems.

You will play a key role in building reliable data pipelines, improving data accessibility, and enabling business intelligence and analytics initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development :

- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data

- Develop high-performance data integration solutions using modern big data technologies

- Implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks

- Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security standards are maintained

Cloud & Big Data Technologies :

- Work with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Develop and optimize distributed data processing solutions using Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, or similar

technologies

- Build scalable data lakes and enterprise data warehouse solutions

Database & Performance Optimization :

- Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and data storage strategies

- Manage large-scale relational and NoSQL databases

- Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows and pipeline failures

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements

- Support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives by delivering reliable datasets

- Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and solution design sessions

Banking & Financial Domain Expertise :

- Work on banking/financial datasets including transactions, customer data, compliance, and risk management systems

- Ensure solutions align with financial industry regulations and security standards

Technical Skills :

- Strong experience in Data Engineering and ETL development

- Expertise in SQL and Python

- Hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, Kafka, or similar big data technologies

- Experience with cloud platforms : AWS / Azure / GCP

- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and modern data architectures

- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms

Domain Experience :

- Mandatory experience in Banking or Financial Services projects

- Understanding of financial data, compliance, governance, and security practices
