Role : Senior Data Architect
Total Experience : 14 - 18 years
Work Mode : Hybrid
Job Description :
Designs and implements the core data architecture for the Universal Context Layer - including lineage-graph schema, entity-resolution framework, ontology structures, semantic metadata in Knowledge Catalog, and governed access patterns on GCP. Focus on Data Architecture & Governance (lineage graph, entity resolution, data quality).
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Design the lineage-graph schema connecting data assets, features, APIs, scores, and business rules across the data estate.
- Lead the migration of existing governance / glossary metadata into Knowledge Catalog (Dataplex Universal Catalog) via the Collibra Edge connector, executed by domain and by region across a large estate.
- Populate and validate semantic metadata (business glossary, taxonomy, ontology) in Knowledge Catalog - leveraging agent-assisted auto-harvesting, then SME validation, to close a substantial metadata-coverage gap.
- Implement entity resolution and automated conflict detection across domain boundaries.
- Build end-to-end data-lineage pipelines from source systems through the context layer.
- Design and implement the access rule engine (Policy Decision Point pattern) for query-level authorization - jurisdiction rules, entitlements, permissible-use enforcement.
- Expose sources of truth as MCP services (API-to-MCP enablement via Apigee).
- Architect context-layer storage using Spanner Graph, BigQuery, and Dataplex Universal Catalog.
- Design data-quality enforcement frameworks and define / enforce data-modeling standards across the ontology.
Must-Have Skills :
- 10+ years in data architecture / data engineering, with at least 3 years on GCP.
- Hands-on experience with GCP : BigQuery, Spanner (incl. Spanner Graph), Dataplex / Knowledge Catalog, Cloud Composer, Dataflow.
- Production experience with knowledge graphs, property graphs, or RDF/OWL-based ontologies.
- Strong skills in entity resolution, data lineage, and metadata management at enterprise scale.
- Experience implementing policy-based access controls in data platforms (RBAC, ABAC, or PDP patterns).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and graph query languages (Cypher, SPARQL, or Gremlin).
- Experience with data-governance frameworks and data-quality tooling.
Nice-to-Have Skills :
- Experience with the credit / lending or financial-services domain (data models such as tradelines, scores, attributes).
- Familiarity with regulated-data compliance and permissible-use governance patterns.
- Hands-on catalog-migration experience with Collibra (incl. Collibra Edge) and Dataplex Universal Catalog.
- GCP Professional Data Engineer certification.
