About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Kafka / Confluent Kafka, streaming data ingestion, and modern cloud-based data engineering on AWS.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge in event streaming, ELT architectures, SQL, and Python/Java, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and drive high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and optimize streaming data pipelines using Kafka, Confluent Kafka (Sink/Source connectors), and related frameworks.

- Implement and manage real-time ingestion using Kafka Connect, Snowpipe Streaming, Flink, or equivalent technologies.

- Develop scalable data solutions on AWS using S3, EMR, Lambda, Glue, Redshift/Snowflake/Databricks.

- Build and optimize ELT pipelines and data lake architectures.

- Write efficient and complex SQL for data processing and analytics.

- Develop high-quality data engineering components using Python or Java (Spring Boot for services).

- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot complex data issues, and unblock junior team members.

- Ensure best practices for performance, security, and reliability across data systems.

- Communicate clearly and effectively within technical teams.

Required Skills (Non-Negotiable) :

- Strong hands-on experience with Kafka / Confluent Kafka (Sink/Source connectors).

- Practical exposure to streaming ingestion tools : Kafka Connect, Snowpipe Streaming, Apache Flink (any one or more).

- Strong experience with AWS Cloud (mandatory).

- Deep expertise in SQL and relational databases.

- Proficiency in Python or Java; experience with modern data lake & ELT architectures.

- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex data issues and guide junior engineers.

- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
