Senior Backend Software Development Engineer III - Java

Role Overview :

As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE-3), you will serve as a technical lead responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-throughput backend services. You will work closely with cross-functional product and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into modular, efficient code. Your daily contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of our core platforms, ensuring that our systems can handle significant scale while maintaining low latency and high availability for our end users.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and implement scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot to ensure high system performance and reliability.

- Design and manage complex data pipelines and asynchronous communication systems using Kafka to facilitate real-time data processing.

- Optimize database performance and query structures within SQL environments to support high-volume transaction processing.

- Establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes and improve the overall velocity of the engineering team.

- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance to foster a culture of high-quality software craftsmanship.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and ensure that system architecture aligns with long-term business objectives.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building enterprise-grade applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.

- Proven ability to design and manage event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka for distributed systems.

- Strong proficiency in SQL database design, optimization, and complex query management.

- Hands-on experience in configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and production workflows.

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Mumbai, working effectively within a collaborative team structure.

- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of professional experience in backend software development, preferably within high-scale product environments.
