About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer with strong expertise in Python, AWS and distributed systems to build and maintain a reliable, automated order execution platform for a systematic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend Engineering & Order Management:

- Design and develop scalable asynchronous backend services using Python.

- Build order management workflows covering order submission, modification, cancellation, partial fills, rejections and execution tracking.

- Implement idempotent order processing to prevent duplicate orders during retries and service interruptions.

- Integrate with broker or exchange APIs using REST, WebSocket or FIX protocols.

- Develop pre-trade risk checks, order validation, exposure limits and emergency trading controls.

Reliability, Reconciliation & Audit:

- Implement intraday and end-of-day reconciliation of orders, trades, fills and positions against broker records.

- Build reliable event-processing mechanisms with retries, backoff, failure recovery and stale-order detection.

- Maintain comprehensive audit trails for trading signals, orders, broker responses and execution events.

AWS Infrastructure & Deployment:

- Develop and deploy backend services on AWS using services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, RDS, IAM and CloudWatch.

- Use Redis for order state, caching, messaging and distributed coordination.

- Work with PostgreSQL, ensuring data consistency, transaction integrity and robust schema design.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

- Build and maintain Docker-based deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Mandatory Skills:

- 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python (asyncio, FastAPI).

- Experience in fintech, brokerage, or trading technology.

- Hands-on experience integrating with broker or exchange APIs.

- Proven experience designing distributed, event-driven systems.

- Production experience with Redis and PostgreSQL.

- Strong AWS experience and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Docker).
