Role Overview :

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be at the heart of our engineering organization, architecting and scaling high-performance systems that power our core product offerings. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists, to translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.

By owning the end-to-end development lifecycle, you will directly influence the platform's reliability and performance, ensuring a seamless experience for our growing user base while driving the technical roadmap for our backend infrastructure in our Gurgaon office.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable microservices using Python to ensure high availability and efficient data processing for our global customer base.

- Optimize database schemas and complex queries in PostgreSQL to enhance system performance and reduce latency for data-intensive operations.

- Architect event-driven systems utilizing Kafka to facilitate seamless asynchronous communication between distributed services.

- Lead system design discussions and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards and mentor junior developers within the team.

- Deploy and manage cloud-native applications on AWS, ensuring cost-effective and secure infrastructure management.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technical bottlenecks and implement innovative solutions that directly improve business outcomes and user satisfaction.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building production-grade applications using Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.

- Proven ability to design and maintain complex distributed systems and microservices architectures that handle high traffic volumes.

- Strong proficiency in managing relational databases like PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and complex query optimization.

- Hands-on experience with message brokers like Kafka to build resilient, event-driven backend architectures.

- Deep understanding of AWS cloud services and infrastructure-as-code practices to support scalable deployment pipelines.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with 5 - 9 years of professional experience in backend development.

- Strong problem-solving mindset with the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup culture.
