Senior Backend Engineer (Java) Bengaluru

The Role:

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer II with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and Backend System Design to join our engineering team.

You will work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Data Engineers to build scalable backend platforms and services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

- Build and maintain APIs, tools, and platform capabilities that centralize and process high-volume data events.

- Contribute to system design and architecture discussions.

- Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.

- Improve development processes, automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.

- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.

Required Qualifications:

- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17+).

- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and RESTful APIs.

- Experience building Microservices-based applications.

- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.

- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

System Design Expectations:

- Ability to design scalable backend services and APIs.

- Experience participating in architecture and system design discussions.

- Knowledge of database design, service integrations, and performance optimization.

- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend practical solutions.
