Job Profile : Senior Software Engineer

The Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java backend development to join our Banking Platform IT team supporting Corporate Credits applications.

You will be responsible for development, maintenance, enhancement, unit testing, and support activities while ensuring adherence to project delivery standards, coding guidelines, and quality processes.

You should have hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle SQL, and related enterprise technologies, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced banking environment.

Responsibilities :

- Analyze business and user requirements and translate them into technical specifications and application solutions.

- Design, develop, test, and implement scalable backend applications using Java and J2EE technologies.

- Work on application development and maintenance activities following enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and maintain applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL.

- Participate in unit testing, regression testing, and defect resolution activities.

- Ensure high-quality code delivery with strong unit test coverage using JUnit.

- Perform effort estimation, planning, and proactive status reporting to stakeholders and management teams.

- Follow project coding standards, development processes, and best practices.

- Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.

- Contribute to technical documentation and maintain project repositories.

- Support technical interviews and hiring activities.

- Assist in improving development processes and technical best practices.

- Work closely with teams across locations for successful project delivery.

- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members when required.

Must - Have Qualifications :

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java Backend Developer

- Strong experience in Java 8 and above

- Hands-on experience with J2EE technologies

- Expertise in Spring Framework and Hibernate

- Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL

- Experience with JUnit for unit testing

- Exposure to BitBucket, JIRA, Maven, and Jenkins

- Knowledge of application architecture, debugging, and performance optimization

- Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes is an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications :

- Masters / Bachelors degree in Engineering & Technology (MCA / ME / M. Tech / BE / B. Tech) in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication / Information Science or related fields.

- Experience in Banking or Financial Services domain preferred

- Experience in application development, maintenance, and support projects

- Exposure to enterprise-level application environments and agile methodologies preferred

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

- Ability to work independently and in team environments
