Job Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer - Data Engineering with 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience in backend development, SQL, database management, API development, and backend architecture.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical expertise in Python and backend technologies, with experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and data-driven applications.

This role is primarily focused on backend engineering, data processing, SQL, database operations, API development, and system design, rather than frontend or full-stack development.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services.

- Build and maintain RESTful APIs with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.

- Develop efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, joins, aggregations, and database operations.

- Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.

- Design and optimize backend architecture for data-intensive applications.

- Develop data processing, integration, and backend data workflows.

- Integrate internal and third-party APIs and services.

- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and OAuth.

- Identify and resolve backend, API, database, and performance-related issues.

- Work with ORMs and database integration frameworks.

- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code.

- Perform debugging, testing, code reviews, and performance optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.

- Take ownership of backend components, technical decisions, and production issues.

Required Skills & Expertise :

1. Backend Development :

- Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend development.

- Working knowledge of TypeScript (Backend), JavaScript, and/or Rust.

- Strong understanding of backend architecture and system design.

- Experience developing scalable and maintainable backend services.

2. SQL & Databases :

- Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of SQL.

- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

3. API Development :

- Strong experience developing and integrating REST APIs.

4. Data Engineering :

- Experience with data processing and data integration.

- Understanding of database-driven applications and backend data workflows.

- Experience managing and optimizing data-intensive backend systems.

5. Engineering Practices :

- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience with testing and maintaining code quality.

- Understanding of ORM and database integration.

- Ability to identify and resolve performance and scalability challenges.
